Women’s Trekking-Pole Sizing & Grip Fit
Forget complicated charts. Use these quick checks to size poles and choose a grip that actually feels good mile after mile.
Length—start with the 90° rule
- On flat ground with arms at your side, set pole length so your elbow bends to ~90°.
- Climbs: minus 5–10 cm. Descents: plus 2–5 cm.
Grip size & material
- You should wrap your hand without overstretching the fingers.
- Cork conforms to your hand, stays drier than foam, and keeps a secure feel in hot/cold swings.
- Extended grips let you choke down quickly on short step-ups.
Straps that don’t chafe
- Enter hand from below and grip over the strap; adjust so it supports your palm without pinching.
- Loosen a notch for thicker gloves.
Weight & packability
- If you stash poles often (photography, kids, scrambles), Z-fold models that pack to 14.6" are super convenient.
- If you fine-tune length frequently, telescoping models win.

FAQs
- Are women’s-specific poles necessary? Not always—fit and comfort matter most.
- Cork vs EVA? Cork for comfort/dry feel; EVA foam is light and soft but holds a bit more moisture.
